A week of football (15-22 June)

Check out the best football actions of the week from 15 to 22 June 2018 on mycujoo selected for you ! Goals of Thimphu City in Bhutan, Lansing United in the States, saves from Brondby in Denmark, Wagner of Mauaense in Paulista Segunda Divisao and much much more...

A week of football

Great goals

For a creative midfield, there is not much better than delivering a perfect through-ball. Orgyen Wangchuk of Thimphu City probably felt fantastic when he delivered this silky assist to his mate Nima Wangdi during the game against High Quality United in the Bhutan league. And as the action was meant to be perfect, the striker managed a lovely chip to finish the job. Delicious!

And for a striker, there is not much better than hitting the perfect shot from distance. And that’s pretty much what Riko Sagara of Lansing United managed against Indy Premier SC in United Women’s Soccer. Taking the ball around 30 meters away, she went on and struck as hard as she could and the leather ball ended up right under the bar, boom!

And what’s the best feeling for a winger ? When he can eliminate his opponent(s) and give a great pass for his striker to easily finish the work. Look at the quick feet of Iloegbunam Jideofor Maiachy of Sporting in the Macau League, followed by a perfect roulette, getting rid of two defenders of Lai Chi, before putting it on a plate for the forward.

Great saves

Unfairly, sometimes fingers are pointed at the level of goalkeepers in women’s football. If you are of this opinion, check out this lovely reflex of Kartin Abel, the goalkeeper of Brøndby in 3F Liga. The header of Karoline Smidt of Fortuna Hjørring at the front post is perfect, but the hand of the Brondby goalie is firm enough to deny the goal.

In the STO Male League, there are a few flying number 1s. The one of Maziya Sports & Recreation showed particularly great reactions for this close range header from the New Radiant Sports Club striker, extending his body and his right arm in a perfect way.

Another header, another type of save. Wagner, of Mauaense, got to the top corner of his goal to punch away this beautiful attempt of Murilo from Itarare in the Paulista Segunda Divisao.

Oooopps

However, the lives of goalies have not been all that great this week on mycujoo. What is the last man of New Jersey Jets exactly doing on this action against Atlanta Silverbacks in NPSL ? A mystery, he is probably still wondering what happened…

Mukundan Maran of Warriors FC in the Singapore Premier League wanted to be ready for a dangerous and anticipated cross. So much so that Khairul Amri of Tampines Rovers FC did not cross and shot in the empty goal, errr…

And the poor Samuel of Grêmio Sãocarlense in Paulista Segunda Divisão… First he does not really manage a great clearance and on the following long shot of Alan Patrick of Francana well, do we have to comment?

But maybe the saddest goalkeeper of the week is the one of Club Green Streets in Maldives in the STO Male League game against Club Eagles. The back pass is slow, the pitch is a golf green, the occasion to hit a huge clearance is so tempting… We feel for him!

Celebrations

Sometimes you can feel commentators need to get some energy back. And a goal can help to do so. In the UPSL game between Union Dubuque F.C. and RWB Adria Chicago, the local commentator seemed to have suddenly travelled to Brazil when Pablo Martinez scored for Dubuque. He probably woke up the whole stadium, we liked!

Nowadays players invent celebrations practically every week when scoring goals. And the message is not always extremely clear. Kasper Lehm of Næsby Boldklub scored a great (or lucky?) goal against IF Lyseng in Denmark 2nd division and he did… this thing with his right foot on the grass. And he visibly inspired his mate Rasmus Praus Espersen who followed him a few seconds later with what might be qualified as a dance (??).
